Aromatherapy Foot Scrubs
You can use either a
sugar or salt scrub for
your feet but a salt scrub will be more abrasive and perhaps more
effective in removing stubborn dead skin patches. Make your own foot
scrub by mixing the appropriate amount of salt/sugar with your chosen
essential oils. Apply the scrub to the skin in small circular motions
and leave on for about 15 minutes. Wash off and pat dry.
Essential Oils for Foot Scrubs
Some essential oils are more suitable for use on the feet, either
because of their historic association with foot products or because of
their therapeutic properties. The following essential oils are ideal for
adding to an aromatherapy foot scrub:
 |
| rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) |
 |
| lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) |
 |
| lemon (Citrus limon)* |
|
|
* be aware that lemon essential oil is photo toxic and should not be
used prior to going out in sunlight due to the risk of photosensitivity.

such as honey, if you want to make a more fluid scrub.

 |
| 10 – 15 drops of your chosen essential oils. | | |
Add your chosen essential oils to your salt/sugar and mix them
together in a bowl. Store in a jar and use prior to bathing/showering.
